1919-1922 Harikzedegân Apartments Laleli
This was the last group of buildings realised by Kemaleddin Bey in Istanbul. Constructed to house families who lost their homes in the great fire in 1918 in the Cibali, Fatih and Altımermer districts, it was named Harikzedegan Apartments. Designed in1919, the buildings were completed in 1922.
The community residence consisting of 25 shops, 124 flats, communal service facilities such as laundry and coal cellar and an enclosed terrace for communal use was one of the early buildings in Istanbul constructed with a reinforced concrete skeleton system.
